Common Questions & Answers
Is AccessHealth Horry a Type of Health Insurance?
AccessHealth Horry is not a health insurance company. We can help you find a medical home and primary care provider where you can get care at a reduced cost. We also have trained staff to help you manage your health, give you advice on staying healthy, apply for certain free medications through Welvista (a mail-order pharmacy), and help you make and keep your medical appointments.
What Services Can I Get?
AccessHealth Horry will assist you in choosing a medical home and primary care provider. If you qualify, you may be able to see a primary care physician at a reduced fee. We will also help you apply for free or reduced-cost prescription drugs. Our social worker will see what other services you might be eligible for.
How Much Do Your Services Cost?
AccessHealth Horry's services are free. You may pay a reduced fee--based upon your income and family size--to the primary care provider you choose. As a nonprofit organization with limited funds, AccessHealth Horry is NOT able to provide financial assistance for treatment, medical equipment, or surgery.
Can You May My Medical Bills For Me?
Unfortunately, no. We simply do not have the funds to pay for medical treatments and patient's past medical bills. We encourage patients to contact the business office of the hospital in which they owe money and ask about any charity programs available and how to apply for them.
