Thousands of patients in Horry County have no insurance and are not eligible for either Medicaid or Medicare. These patients tend to frequent the emergency rooms or neglect their chronic health conditions, leading to costly inpatient hospital stays and readmissions. AccessHealth Horry has attracted support from a diverse and influential group of public and private partners throughout Horry County.
